Change WebHost Manager® Theme

Valid for versions 82 through the latest version

Last modified: February 8, 2022

Warning:

We removed this interface in cPanel & WHM version 102. WHM no longer supports non-default themes. For more information, read our cPanel Deprecation Plan documentation.

Overview

This interface allows you to select the theme for WHM.

A cPanel & WHM theme is the framework on which the system places the style. The theme contains many underlying elements, such as HTML and CSS.

Change a theme

To change a WHM theme, click the link that corresponds to the new theme that you wish to use. If multiple themes do not exist, the interface does not provide any options.

Important:

When you create your own themes or use a theme that cPanel does not provide, you must ensure that the following files exist:

  • /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/$theme/passwd/changepass.html

  • /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/$theme/passwd/index.html

These files control interfaces that the system uses whenever you change a cPanel users password. If you do not copy or create these interfaces, users cannot change their passwords if the following conditions are true:

  • You used WHMs Force Password Change interface (WHM » Home » Account Functions » Force Password Change) to require the user to change the accounts password.

  • The users password is too old or too weak, as you defined in WHMs Configure Security Policies interface (WHM » Home » Security Center » Configure Security Policies).

Note:

We do not support custom themes or localization for WHM.
